Kujira Monaka
Japan’s Charming Whale-Shaped Sweet.
About Kujira Monaka
Kujiramonaka is a delightful Japanese sweet that captures hearts with its adorable whale shape. These treats are a special type of “monaka”
– a traditional Japanese confection consisting of a sweet filling sandwiched between two thin crisp wafers made from mochi (pounded rice).
In Kujiramonaka, the wafers are crafted into charming whale shapes, paying homage to the coastal heritage of Miyagi Prefecture.
The crispy exterior perfectly complements the various sumptuous fillings, offering a unique taste of Japan’s culinary traditions.
